The Woodshed is a converted barn on our old farm in Ubbeston. It's for two people. We've done it up to a high standard, hence the five star rating. It's all on one level and is wheelchair accessible from the parking area to the main room.
It's open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sitting area with a wood burner, and the double bed at one end. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. It's got underfloor heating and is very well insulated, so it's cosy in winter and cool in summer.
You have your own private patio with a table and chairs. It looks out over the fields. It's a quiet spot. We live on site in the farmhouse.
There are two other similar holiday barns here, The Dairy and The Cowshed. We sometimes have them booked separately, or sometimes together if a group wants all three.
The village is small. The nearest shop is about two and a half miles away in Laxfield. The nearest pub is the Low House in Laxfield, which is a proper old pub with no bar. You serve yourself from the tap room. It's about three miles.
Framlingham is about a 20 minute drive. The castle is good. You can walk the walls. English Heritage Framlingham Castle has the details. Southwold is about half an hour east. It's a classic Suffolk seaside town with a pier and beach huts.
For walking, the area is good for quiet lanes and footpaths. The Suffolk Coast is within easy reach for a day out. Useful links for planning: Visit Suffolk and the Suffolk Coast & Heaths National Landscape.
Facilities: there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot if needed. No pets.
