Old Dairy

The Old Dairy is on our farm in Walpole, Suffolk. It's part of a small group of converted barns, so you might see us or other guests coming and going. It sleeps three, in two bedrooms. One double and one single. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.

The barns are 18th century. We've kept some of the old beams and brickwork. It's open plan downstairs. The stairs are quite steep and turn a corner, so just take care.

There's a shared indoor pool you can book privately, but only from Easter to September. There's also a games room with an astroturf pitch for the kids. We put up Christmas decorations if you're staying over the festive period.

You've got your own enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. Parking is right outside. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. No pets allowed, I'm afraid.

The village is quiet. The nearest shop is about three miles away in Halesworth. There's a decent pub serving food about two and a half miles down the road.

You're well placed for the coast. Southwold is about 20 minutes by car. It's got the pier and the beach huts. Aldeburgh is a bit further, maybe half an hour. Dunwich and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere are in that direction too. For a walk, the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area is right there.

Framlingham with its castle is inland, about 25 minutes away. Beccles, on the edge of the Broads, is around half an hour's drive.
