Henry’s Barn is on our farm in Walpole, Suffolk. It’s a semi-detached barn conversion. We’ve got about 80 acres of meadowland here.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The downstairs accommodation is wheelchair accessible and there’s a wet room, so it works if you have mobility issues. It’s a 4 Star place. It’s comfy and clean.
The barn is from the 18th century so it’s got character. The stairs are a bit steep in the old style, just so you know.
We run a beef farm, so you’ll see cattle in the fields. You get your own enclosed garden and patio with a BBQ.
On the site there’s an indoor heated pool you can book privately. It’s open from Easter to September. There’s also a games room with an indoor astro pitch.
The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away. The shop is in Halesworth, three miles. That’s the closest market town.
Southwold is about eight miles. That’s where the beach and the famous coloured huts are. Aldeburgh is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes by car. Dunwich and the RSPB Minsmere reserve are in that area too, good for walks and birdwatching.
You’re well placed for the coast. Framlingham with its castle is about a twenty-minute drive inland. The Norfolk Broads are also within easy reach.
WiFi is included. There’s a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, cot, and highchair. On-site parking. We can take one well-behaved dog.
If you’re looking for information for days out, these sites are good: National Trust Suffolk, Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB, and RSPB Minsmere.
