This is Hogsnorting Villa. It's a detached cottage down a quiet lane in Blythburgh. We redid it a few years ago, so it's comfortable now but it's still an old place. It's got two double bedrooms and two shower rooms, which is handy. There's a wood burner in the living room and the garden is fenced off.
There's a pub just up the road, about 150 metres. They do food and you can sit outside looking over the water. The church across the road is famous for the angels carved on its ceiling, it's called the Cathedral of the Marshes.
You can walk straight from the back of the pub along the old railway line next to the estuary. That takes you through the nature reserve to the beach at Walberswick. Or you can head the other way, inland.
Southwold is ten minutes away by car. That's where the pier is, and the beach huts, and the Adnams shop. If you like birdwatching, RSPB Minsmere is about a fifteen minute drive. Dunwich Heath, Aldeburgh, and Thorpeness are all within half an hour.
For walks and other places to visit, the Suffolk Coast & Heaths website is useful. Also the National Trust for Suffolk.
It sleeps four. We allow two dogs. There's parking for two cars on the drive. All bedding and towels are provided, and there's wifi. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and in good order.
