Hengegin is in Dre-fach, Carmarthenshire. It’s a semi-detached cottage, part of a small row. It’s fairly quiet here, just houses and fields.
The place sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs. One’s a decent sized double, the other is a twin. There’s one bathroom downstairs. It’s a 3 Star rating, so it’s clean and supplied, but not high-end.
Downstairs is mostly open plan. There’s a living area with a wood burner. That’s handy in the evenings. The kitchen is in the same space, and there’s a table to eat at. Off the back there’s a conservatory. It’s useful. It’s got the washing machine and tumble dryer in it, and there’s space for bikes or walking boots.
You’re west of the Brecon Beacons here. For walking, the National Park is close. Waterfalls like Sgwd yr Eira and Henrhyd Falls are about a 30-40 minute drive. Castell Carreg Cennen, the castle on the cliff, is closer, maybe 15 minutes by car. It’s a good visit.
The coast is a bit further. The Gower Peninsula, which has some good beaches, is about an hour’s drive. Carmarthen town is about nine miles away for supermarkets and shops.
Facilities are as you’d expect. WiFi, TV, on-site parking, bedding and towels are provided. There’s no dishwasher. The stairs are normal, not especially steep. No pets allowed.
