The Mill Farmhouse is a three bedroom house in Llandybie in Carmarthenshire. It sleeps six. There's one bathroom. You can bring one dog.
It's a stone farmhouse that's been in the family a long time. It was modernised decades ago but we've put it back as close to original as we could. That meant opening up the old fireplaces and fixing the sash windows. It has underfloor heating downstairs. Upstairs, the floors and stairs are the original wood. It's a solid, old house.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and has good facilities, but it's not a show home. The stairs are typical old farmhouse stairs. They're fine, but they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
You're opposite the railway station on the Heart of Wales line. The trains aren't frequent, but it's a beautiful route if you fancy a day out without the car. The village shop is about a hundred yards away. The pub and a restaurant are even closer, about seventy-five yards. They're both good.
Llandeilo is about six miles east. It's a nice town for wandering, with good cafes and shops. Dinefwr Castle is near there. About a fifteen minute drive north you've got Carreg Cennen Castle, which is really impressive on its cliff. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is about twenty minutes away. Aberglasney Gardens is a similar distance.
You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park for walking. The Gower Peninsula and the Carmarthenshire beaches, like Pendine, are within about forty minutes by car.
What's here: a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, wifi, parking for a couple of cars, and a garden. Bedding and towels are included. It's a detached house, so no one attached to the sides.
