Sgubor Llwyndu is on our farm, up a track called Lon y Felin. It's a converted cow shed from about 1900. We live next door in the farmhouse. It's a working beef and sheep farm.
The barn sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One bathroom is en-suite to the double room. Everything's on one level. It's got a 5 Star rating. They tell us that means it's high spec and very clean.
You walk in through a corridor into an open plan room. The kitchen's at one end, fitted out with a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a breakfast bar looking out through the patio doors. The living area has a wood burner. It heats the space well. The patio doors open onto a private, enclosed patio and garden. There's a hot tub out there.
You get the views over our fields and the hills. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs and kids. We allow up to two dogs.
The farm track leads down to the lane. Pantyffynnon station is about a mile away, on the Heart of Wales line. The village shop and a pub are about a mile and a half. Ammanford town has bigger shops and a few cafes, about three miles.
Llandeilo is ten minutes by car. It's a nice little town on the river with some good shops. For the coast, you're looking at just under half an hour to get to the Gower. The beaches there are very good.
If you're walking, you can go straight from the door onto local footpaths. For bikes, there are some trails at Brechfa Forest, which is about a 25 minute drive.
Everything's included: bedding, towels, electricity. There's a cot and highchair here if you need them. Parking is right outside.
Useful links for the area: Visit Wales and for the Gower coast specifically, the National Trust Gower page is good.
