Hoglet Cottage is in Garnant, up in the hills near the Brecon Beacons. It’s detached, so no one attached either side. It’s a one bedroom place, sleeps two. We had it renovated last year so everything is new and works properly.
It’s all on the ground floor. One open plan room with the kitchen, living and dining area, then the bedroom and shower room off that. The bedroom has patio doors that open onto an enclosed verandah. That’s where the hot tub is. You can sit in it and look out at the hills. There’s no streetlights round here, so on a clear night you can see a lot of stars.
The garden is enclosed, so it’s secure if you’re bringing dogs. Speaking of which, you can bring two pets. There’s parking right outside the cottage.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door into the countryside. For a bigger day out, the Brecon Beacons National Park is right on the doorstep. The Gower Peninsula is about an hour’s drive, maybe a bit less if traffic is light. It’s good for beaches. Carmarthen and Swansea are both within about half an hour by car if you need bigger shops or a cinema.
Inside, it’s got everything you’d need: wifi, TV, washing machine, a cot if required. All the bedding and towels are included. We’ve left a folder with details for the local pub and things like that.
