For the walkers and especially the bird watchers among us, Somerset is the perfect place to explore, from right outside the front door all the way to a day out at Avalon Marshes/Westhay Moor and other National Nature Reserves, as well as the Quantock Hills and Exmoor.
The historic town of Bridgwater is approx. a 10-minute drive where you can spend a day exploring the history of the town from its museum to its Corn Exchange. Clark’s Retail Outlet is 15 minutes away in Street, the fascinating town of Glastonbury with it’s Abbey and Tor, and Wells, the smallest city in England are within half an hour. The larger cities of Bath, Bristol and Exeter are all within an hour’s drive.
There are also plenty of local pubs, shops and restaurants to enjoy. If you wanted to travel further afield for a family day out, there is Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole and the seaside resort of Weston-Super-Mare is approx. 30-minute drive, here you will find local beaches, golf courses and many other activities for the all the family to enjoy. The nearest beach is 10 miles.
