Ralph Lodge is a contemporary, spacious barn conversion set within walking distance of the fabulous Beamish open air museum. Nestled in a quiet spot near the owner’s home, this fabulous property has plenty of sitting out spaces to relax and watch the surrounding views, whether sat on a raised terrace or on the lawn the views are beautiful.

Perfect for friends, families and couples, this semi-detached property is ideally located midway between Durham and Newcastle, and the many visitor attractions in Northumberland and Durham. Children are well catered for here with high chairs, steriliser, baby bath and games supplied by the friendly owners, in fact if you require anything else you need only ask and they will do their best to provide for you.

Beautiful Durham is only 6 miles away, perfect if you want to take a train further afield to explore York or Edinburgh. This fabulous location has over 12 pubs and restaurants within a 1-mile radius, including two family pubs with play areas and childrens’ menus. There are also plenty of up-market restaurants should you require something a little more special. A handy bus stop is 350 yards away with a regular service to Durham, Newcastle and beyond. The Theatre Royal, home to the Royal Shakespeare Company, is set only 20 minutes away in Newcastle, so be sure to check if anything of interest is on when you come to stay. The Sunderland Empire also has hit musicals and plays and is also only 20 minutes away.

Travelling around the diverse countryside in Northumberland is so easy from here with a great road network nearby, taking you north for day trips to Alnwick with its famous castle or on to the coast to explore many historic castles and golden beaches. There is lots to see and do whilst staying at Ralph Lodge - the Angel of the North is nearby and the Metro Centre is just a few miles away. Children will enjoy the Woodland Adventure at Beamish Hall and there’s a great nature trail at Derwent Waterside Park. Beach 15 miles. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
