If it’s a city break you’re looking for, then look no further. In a great location for exploring Durham itself and the surrounding countryside, The Flat is ideal for couples or friends and family wishing to meet up and discover the delights of this beautiful city.
It’s a wonderfully warm and comfortable base with a lovely living room, a very well equipped kitchen and two good sized bedrooms, with the owner living nearby.
Practically perfect, The Flat is only 2 miles from the city centre with a path taking you virtually from your doorstep into the heart of the city. Only a short 5 minute walk from your base takes you to a local pub and restaurant, as well as a couple of large supermarkets.
Durham is renowned for its spectacular architecture, including the castle, the famous university, which dates back to the 13th century, and of course the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral.
If you want to explore outside the city, one attraction not to be missed is the Beamish Museum, or you could take a drive through stunning countryside to Durham Heritage Coast and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, both well worth a visit. Beach 14 miles. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
