Tor Barn

Tor Barn is in Pendeen, on the far west coast of Cornwall. It's a detached stone barn conversion. It's quiet here, on the edge of the village, but you can hear the sea sometimes when the wind's right.

It sleeps six. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The floors are slate downstairs, so it can feel cool. The woodburner sorts that out quickly.

You've got a completely enclosed garden, which is useful if you've got a dog. Sorry, no pets allowed though. There's parking right outside.

The local shop and a pub that does food are about a five minute walk away. The pub is decent. For a proper sandy beach, Sennen Cove is about a fifteen minute drive. The South West Coast Path is even closer, you can pick it up just down the lane. It's good walking from the door.

St Ives is nine miles along the coast road through Zennor. It's a scenic drive but can get busy in summer. Penzance is eight miles the other way. They've got everything there, supermarkets, an outdoor lido. You can get the Scillonian ferry from there to the Isles of Scilly.

Land's End is about twenty minutes by car. It is what it is. I prefer Geevor Tin Mine, which is just up the road. You get a real sense of what this place was built on.

Inside, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding is provided. We leave a highchair in the utility room.
