Wheal Holan is in Pendeen, up near Lands End. It's a very old tin miner's cottage, about two hundred years. The walls are granite and the ceilings are beamed. It's got some character but it's not fancy.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin. Both have a view out to sea. There's one bathroom, which is an en-suite toilet off the double room. The main shower is downstairs next to the kitchen.
Downstairs there's a living room with a wood burner. It works well and makes the room cosy. The kitchen is fine for cooking meals. There's a washing machine.
Outside, there's a walled garden at the front. It's enclosed, which is good if you have a dog, but we don't take pets here, sorry. At the back there's a courtyard and parking for one car.
You can walk to the coast path from the cottage. Pendeen Watch lighthouse is right there. The views from the cliffs are very good, you can see right across to St Ives. There are a few beaches and coves a short drive away.
There are three pubs in the village, all within walking distance. They all serve food and proper Cornish ale.
For local history, Geevor Tin Mine is just down the road. You can go underground there. It's part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. The National Trust has a lot of coastal land and gardens around here too, all within about half an hour's drive.
