Badger Hill Barn
Badger Hill Barn is in Hanlith, just outside Kirkby Malham in the Yorkshire Dales. It's a barn conversion we did a few years back. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms. The big thing is each bedroom has its own bathroom. That's handy if you're with another couple or a family with older kids.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-insulated, warm, and everything's in good order. It's not overly fancy, just comfortable.
You come in to the main living space. It's open plan, with the kitchen and dining area. The ceilings are high, and the original beams are still there. The wood burner is in the conservatory part, so you can sit by it and look out at the garden and the fields. The stairs are wooden and a bit open, so just be aware if you've small children.
The garden is a decent size. There are a couple of flat patio areas with furniture. It is terraced, though, so parts have a steep drop. You'd want to keep an eye on kids or dogs out there.
You're right in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Malham Cove is about a twenty-minute walk away. There's a local pub in Kirkby Malham, a few minutes' drive or a fifteen-minute walk. For shops, you'd go to Settle or Skipton. Both are about a fifteen-minute drive. Settle has a good market on Tuesdays. Skipton has the castle and the canal.
Facilities: all the usual stuff is there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside for a couple of cars. You can bring up to two dogs. We ask that they stay off the furniture and you clean up after them in the garden.
