Rock Folly is in Ardersier, a village on the Moray Firth about ten miles northeast of Inverness. It's a detached house sleeping eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms and an extra toilet downstairs.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a comfortable, modern house. The main thing is the view from the front. It looks straight out over the water. You can see for miles along the firth. Dolphins do come by sometimes, right from the window.
Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is a good size with a dishwasher and a washing machine. The garden is enclosed, which is useful if you're bringing dogs. You can bring up to two.
Ardersier has a local shop and a couple of pubs nearby. Fort George is just along the road. It's an impressive old fortress. You can walk the walls and it's run by Historic Environment Scotland.
For a good day out, Chanonry Point is about a twenty minute drive. That's a famous spot for dolphin watching from the shore. The Black Isle is over that way too, with nice beaches like Rosemarkie.
Culloden Battlefield is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a significant historic site, well worth visiting. Inverness is the nearest city for bigger shops, restaurants, and the castle.
Golf is close by. Castle Stuart, which has hosted tournaments, is about ten minutes away.
You're well placed for driving into the wider Highlands. Loch Ness is under an hour's drive if you want to go and look for the monster.
What's here: parking on site, bedding and towels are included, WiFi, TV, a cot and highchair if needed. The garden has patio furniture.
If you're looking into things to do, VisitScotland Highlands and the National Trust for Scotland at Culloden have good information.
