By The Sea

This place is called By The Sea. It's in Avoch, on the Black Isle. As the name says, it's close to the water. Step outside, look right, and you can see it. It's about a hundred yards away.

The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a proper seaside cottage, so it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect anything too fancy. Everything you need is there.

You can bring two dogs. There's an enclosed garden, which is handy for that. Inside there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We've also got a cot and a highchair if you need them.

Avoch itself is a proper fishing village. There's an old harbour with a small fleet. A dolphin watching boat goes from there, which is worth doing. The village has a shop and places to eat. For more choice, Fortrose and Rosemarkie are just a few miles down the road. They've got good cafes and pubs.

Chanonry Point, near Fortrose, is one of the best spots in the world to see bottlenose dolphins from the shore. There's also a good sandy beach there and an old links golf course. Further along the Black Isle, Cromarty is another nice village to visit. It's got a great coffee shop and a small cinema.

You're about twenty minutes from Inverness if you need shops or the station. The North Coast 500 route is on your doorstep. Day trips to places like Ullapool, Applecross, or even over to Skye are possible, though they're a decent drive.
