It's called By The Sea, and it's on James Street in Avoch. You can see the water from the front step. It's a hundred yards away, if that.
It's a two bedroom cottage. Sleeps four. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's clean and well kept.
The place is fine for a wheelchair to get in the front door, but inside it's a standard cottage layout with stairs, so not fully accessible throughout.
You can bring two dogs. The back garden is enclosed, so that's sorted. We've got a travel cot and a highchair if you need them.
Avoch is a proper fishing village. There's still a small fleet. You can get a boat trip from the harbour to see the dolphins. There's a shop and a couple of places to eat in the village.
For a bigger beach, you want to go to Rosemarkie. It's sandy and it's about a ten minute drive. That's also where Chanonry Point is. It's a good spot to watch for dolphins from the shore. Fortrose has the ruins of the cathedral and a golf course.
Inverness is twenty minutes away if you need a big shop or the train station. You're right on the edge of the North Coast 500 route here. It's a good base for it. Day trips to places like Ullapool or even the Isle of Skye are possible, but they're long days.
For local walks and history, the National Trust for Scotland Black Isle page is useful.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. That's about it really.
