Rowan Cottage is one of three semi-detached cottages on a farm just outside Inverness. It's about a ten minute drive from the city centre. The cottages are surrounded by fields and woodland, and Highland cows do sometimes wander past the garden.
It sleeps four people. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom, all on the ground floor. It's a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not fancy. The living room has an old stove fireplace that works.
The garden is shared with the other two cottages, but it's a big space that wraps around the buildings. There are a few benches dotted about to sit and look at the fields.
You're less than a mile from the shore here. The beach at Nairn, which is sandy, is about a ten minute drive. You can often see dolphins from Chanonry Point over on the Black Isle, which is about half an hour away.
Inverness is close for shops and things. Loch Ness is only about ten minutes further on from there. You're well placed for day trips: the start of the NC500 route is in Inverness, Aviemore in the Cairngorms is 40 minutes south, and the Speyside whisky distilleries are to the east.
If you'd rather stay local, there's a world-class golf course called Castle Stuart Links a few hundred yards from the cottage. If you're interested in salmon fishing, some famous rivers like the Spey and the Findhorn aren't far.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, a cot and highchair if needed, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
