Pine Cottage is on Easter Dalziel Farm, just outside Inverness. It's one of three old farm cottages, semi-detached. They're from the 1800s. You look out over fields and there's a bit of woodland nearby. Highland cows sometimes come into the paddocks around the cottage.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and works fine, but it's not a modern new-build. Lots of the original features are still there. The kitchen is well-equipped. The living room has an old stove from the mid-20th century, which is the main heating. Two bedrooms and the main bathroom are on the ground floor. The third bedroom is a twin upstairs. Kids tend to like that one. The stairs are fine.
There's a shared garden that wraps around the cottages, with places to sit. You get parking on site. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
The sea is less than a mile away. There's a pebbly beach there where you can often see bottlenose dolphins. For sandy beaches, you drive to Nairn or over to the Black Isle at Rosemarkie. You see dolphins there a lot too.
Inverness is about ten minutes' drive. Loch Ness is about ten minutes further on from there. If you're doing the NC500 route, you pick it up in Inverness. Going south, you can be in Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park in around 40 minutes. East from here, the Moray coast has some good fishing villages. The Speyside whisky distilleries are that way too.
For fishing, there are famous salmon rivers a short drive away. For golf, Castle Stuart Links is a few hundred yards away. Nairn has two championship links courses about fifteen minutes away.
Useful links if you're planning: National Trust for Scotland Highlands, Cairngorms National Park, and the NC500 site.
