Birch Cottage is out near Nairn, about ten minutes from Inverness. It's one of three old farm cottages together. Ours is semi-detached.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two doubles downstairs and another double upstairs. There's one bathroom, downstairs. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not renovated to a high modern standard. It's an old building.
The kitchen is fine for cooking meals. There's an old stove in the living room that works. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are a bit steep.
You share the garden with the other two cottages. It's a big wrap-around garden with a few places to sit. You get a good view over the fields. You'll see sheep and sometimes Highland cattle in the neighbouring fields.
You're close to the coast. The sea is less than a mile away. There's a pebble beach a few miles along where people often see dolphins. For sandy beaches, you drive to Nairn or over to the Black Isle.
Inverness is your nearest town for shops and things. Loch Ness is about another ten minutes past that. You're right on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, which is about forty minutes south. If you're driving the NC500 route, you start in Inverness.
There's a golf course, Castle Stuart Links, very close by. Fly fishing is good locally if that's your thing.
Facilities wise: it's got parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We accept up to two dogs.
If you're coming with a bigger group, you can book Birch Cottage together with Rowan and Pine Cottage next door.
