Chanonry View Holiday Cottage

Chanonry View is in Fortrose, on the Black Isle. It's detached. The main thing about it is the view, which is exactly what it says on the tin. You look right out over the water to Chanonry Point and the mountains beyond. You can spend a lot of time just looking at that.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One is an en-suite shower room to the main bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's on one level, which is useful.

The village is a short walk down the hill. There's a shop, a couple of places to eat, and the ruins of the cathedral. Fortrose and Rosemarkie are basically next to each other. Rosemarkie has a long sandy beach. The walk from the cottage down through the village, along the golf course to Chanonry Point, and back along the beach is a good one.

Chanonry Point is famous for dolphin spotting from the shore. People stand there for hours watching. The lighthouse is a Stevenson one.

We get pine martens in the garden. You might see one if you're quiet. Owls too, sometimes.

Within half an hour you can be in Inverness for shops or the cinema. The Glen Ord distillery at Muir of Ord is about 25 minutes. For a bigger day out, Loch Ness is 40 minutes drive, or you can head west towards Ullapool.

It has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed.
