Thistle Lodge is in Rosemarkie, in the Highlands. It's a detached wooden lodge, one of five on the site. The owner lives nearby if you need anything.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kitted out. The living area is all open plan. The best thing is the view. You look through the trees straight out to the Moray Firth. There's a balcony to sit on.
The stairs inside are a fairly steep ladder-style, so you need to be sure on your feet.
You're right on the edge of the woods here. It's very quiet. You'll see plenty of birds and maybe deer. For dolphins, you go to Chanonry Point, which is about a ten minute walk. It's one of the best spots in Europe to see them from the shore. Just remember the tide times.
The village of Rosemarkie is about three miles away. It's got a good beach, a shop, and a couple of pubs that do food. Fortrose is just next to it, with more options. For a bigger shop, Inverness is about half an hour's drive.
The Black Isle is great for cycling and walking. There's a lot of history around here too, like the Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie for Pictish stones.
The lodge has a private parking space right next to it. The garden is enclosed. Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. We provide a cot and a highchair.
