Thistle Lodge Rosemarkie

Thistle Lodge is a detached lodge in Rosemarkie, up in the Highlands. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom.

The main thing here is the view. You're set back in the woods looking out over the Moray Firth. There's a balcony where you can sit and look at the sea. The living area is all open-plan so you get the view from the kitchen and the sitting room too.

It’s got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. There's parking right next to it.

The owner lives on site. They're helpful if you need advice on local walks. You can walk straight out from the lodge into the woods.

Chanonry Point is very close. It's one of the best spots in Europe to see dolphins from the shore. We see them regularly. You'll also see plenty of other wildlife, like buzzards and deer.

The villages of Fortrose and Rosemarkie are a few minutes' drive away. They've got a couple of pubs that do food, a shop or two, and a good beach.

You can bring up to two dogs. Facilities include things like a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included.

If you want to explore further, Inverness is about half an hour north by car. The Black Isle has a lot of good cycling routes. For wider planning, the National Trust for Scotland and The Highland Council sites have useful information.
