Cookies Corner
Cookies Corner is in Port Haverigg, near Millom. It's a holiday home on a park by a lake. The park is quiet, not a big busy holiday park.
The house sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. There's an extra toilet ensuite in one bedroom, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.
Inside it's open plan, so the lounge, kitchen and dining area are all together. It's a bright space. The kitchen has what you need. Through the patio doors there's a private decking area. You can sit out there.
The park is based around a big freshwater lake. You can do watersports on it, it's the only one in the Lakes without speed limits. There's a Ski Bar on site.
One of the best things is the beach. It's about a five minute walk from the house. It's a good, sandy beach with dunes. You don't hear many people talk about it. The RSPB Hodbarrow Nature Reserve is right there too, around the lagoon.
Millom town is close for shops and things. It's about a ten-minute drive to get onto the proper fells. The Lake District National Park website is good for walking routes. You can drive to places like Coniston, Eskdale, or over to Windermere in under an hour.
Facilities wise: bedding and towels are included, there's a cot, WiFi, TV, parking right outside, and the electricity is included. You can bring one dog.
