No 4 - Kempton Park

No 4 - Kempton Park is in Tedsmore, near West Felton. It’s one of ten converted stables set around a big courtyard with a fountain.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s very well finished. The downstairs is all on one level, which could be useful.

The layout is straightforward. Downstairs there’s a bedroom with a king-size bed and its own shower room. The kitchen and living area are open plan, with big doors that open onto your own patio. Upstairs are two more king rooms and a twin room. One of the king rooms has another en-suite.

The place has underfloor heating and a washing machine. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.

On the estate there’s a games room with pool and table tennis. You’re welcome to walk around the grounds.

It’s a quiet spot. Oswestry is the nearest town, about ten minutes away by car. They’ve got supermarkets and shops there. If you want a bigger day out, Shrewsbury is good. It’s about thirty minutes drive. They’ve got the park by the river, the theatre, and an independent cinema in the old market hall.

For local history, you’ve got Powis Castle, which is about twenty five minutes away, and Old Oswestry Hill Fort is even closer. The British Ironwork Centre is nearby if you like sculptures.

No pets, I’m afraid.
