Marton Hall
Marton Hall is just outside the village of Baschurch in Shropshire. It's a big, detached Arts and Crafts house, set back from the lane in its own grounds. You get a fair bit of land with it, about 150 acres including a private lake.
It sleeps twelve people. There are six bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. The place has been renovated carefully. They've kept things like the fireplaces but put in good showers and underfloor heating. It feels solid.
The kitchen has an Aga and a big table. There are two living rooms, one with a wood burner and a snug with an open fire. There's also a games room with a 3/4 size snooker table and a games console. Outside, there's a big garden room with glass on two sides, so you can sit out there even if it's raining. There's plenty of parking, including an electric vehicle charger.
You can walk to Baschurch village. It's got a small Co-op, a post office, and a couple of pubs that do food.
Shrewsbury is about nine miles away. That's where you'll find most of the shops, restaurants, and the theatre. The river walks there are good. Ironbridge is about a 25-minute drive. It's a World Heritage Site. The Severn Valley Railway is roughly half an hour away. If you like walking, the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is within a 30-minute drive.
Facilities wise: all bedding and towels are included. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, cot and highchair. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and there's a ground floor wet room. You can bring up to two dogs.
