Marton Hall
Marton Hall is a big detached house near Baschurch in Shropshire. It sleeps twelve people. There are six bedrooms and they all have their own bathroom. The house has a Five Star rating so it's been done to a high standard. It's an Arts and Crafts style place and we've spent the last few years restoring the original features.
You come in through a big entrance hall. There are two main living rooms downstairs: one with a wood burner and another snug with an open fire. The kitchen is large and has an Aga and a central island. The dining table is big enough for everyone. There's also a separate games room with a snooker table and a games console.
Outside is a garden room with lots of glass, so you can sit out there even if the weather isn't great. The gardens are extensive and you're welcome to walk in the grounds, which include a private lake and fields. There's an electric vehicle charger on site.
The house is all on one level except for five of the bedrooms, which are upstairs. The stairs are fine. One bedroom and a wet room are on the ground floor, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
Baschurch village is a couple of minutes away by car. It has a small supermarket, a post office, and two pubs. Shrewsbury is about a twenty-minute drive. It's a good day out with the castle, the river, and plenty of shops and cafes.
Within half an hour you can get to the National Trust's Attingham Park, or Ironbridge Gorge. The Shropshire Hills are close by for walking. Ludlow is about forty minutes away if you want to go for food.
Facilities: everything you'd expect really. Wifi, TVs, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's plenty of parking.
