Red Lion Lodge

Red Lion Lodge is in Myddle. It's one of those places you blink and miss on the B5476, just outside Shrewsbury. It's detached, which is nice, and you get your own parking for two cars right outside.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms. One is a twin on the ground floor, the other is a king-size upstairs. They both have their own wet room ensuite, which is handy. The one downstairs is a wet room, so it's all tiled floor with a shower drain. The stairs are fine, standard cottage stairs.

The main living space is all open plan. Kitchen at one end, sitting area at the other. It's got a wood burner. There's a TV with Freeview and a washing machine inside a cupboard. The kitchen has a dishwasher. It's all clean and presented well. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The garden area is patioed. It's shared with the village pub next door, which is literally next door. The pub garden is right there. It's fine, they're friendly, but if you want complete private seclusion it's something to be aware of. The pub does food. The village itself is tiny, just a few houses and a church.

You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.

For getting out, Shrewsbury is about a 15 minute drive. That's where you'll find the big shops, the castle, and the park by the river. The Shropshire Hills are right on the doorstep for walks. You can be at the Long Mynd or the Stiperstones in under half an hour. Ironbridge Gorge is about a 25 minute drive, maybe half an hour depending on traffic. It's a UNESCO site, lots of museums about the industrial history there.
