The Bothy
The Bothy is a converted gardener's cottage. It's in my walled garden at Leaton Knolls, just outside Shrewsbury.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a four-star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything's on the ground floor. The layout is open plan, with a sofa, a table, and a kitchen area. There's a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, and a microwave. There's a proper coffee machine.
The bedroom has a king-size bed. The main thing is the private patio out the back. It gets the sun and looks over our garden. There's a table, chairs, and a barbecue.
Shrewsbury town centre is about three miles away. It's a proper medieval town with a castle, the river, and lots of old buildings. There are good pubs and shops.
For walking, the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is close. Carding Mill Valley is about twenty minutes by car. Ludlow is about half an hour away, with its castle and market. Bridgnorth is similar distance, with its cliff railway and the Severn Valley Railway. Attingham Park and Powis Castle are also within a half-hour drive.
