Little Whitley
Little Whitley is the old staff quarters to this farmhouse, on a working farm near Shrewsbury. It sleeps four, with a bedroom downstairs and a big one up in the eaves. It's got two bathrooms. The place is modern inside, done up to a high standard. They give it a 5 Star rating.
It's properly rural. You're on a private farm with your own enclosed orchard garden. A footpath from the orchard goes two ways, about a mile each to a village with a pub.
Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining, living area. There's a wood burner. The stairs are cottage stairs, steep and narrow.
The downstairs bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room, with a door straight out to the garden. The main bedroom is upstairs under the beams. It's a superking bed with an en-suite that has a freestanding bath and a separate shower.
Shrewsbury is ten minutes away by car. It's a proper town with everything you need. The Shropshire Hills are about fifteen minutes' drive, good for walks. The Shropshire Hills AONB site has maps and ideas. For the historic side, the English Heritage page for Shrewsbury Castle is useful.
Things here: underfloor heating, wood burner, Smart TV, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. It's enclosed so dogs and kids can run about. Pets are welcome, up to two dogs.
