The Roost
The Roost is our place in Dorrington. It's a barn we converted. It's attached to our house, but it's private. You get your own garden, which is enclosed. Good if you've got dogs.
It sleeps two. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well kitted out. It's all on the ground floor except the bedroom. The entrance and the shower are wheelchair accessible. There's a step up into the main living area though.
It's quiet here. You look out over fields. The garden gets the sun in the evening.
Dorrington has a shop and a couple of pubs. The nearest one is a five minute walk. They do food.
For getting out, you're in a good spot. Shrewsbury is about ten minutes by car. It's a proper market town with a castle. Church Stretton is about twenty minutes. That's your gateway to the Long Mynd for walking. The National Trust Carding Mill Valley is there.
Further afield, Ludlow is about forty minutes. That's for food and another castle. Ironbridge is about half an hour if you're interested in the history. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums site has all the details.
In the cottage, there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. You can bring two dogs.
