Stiperstones Lodge
Stiperstones Lodge is a glamping pod on a farm near Habberley. It's one of several on the Eastridge site, set in the Shropshire Hills.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a pod, so the space is open plan. Everything you need is there: bedding, towels, TV, wifi, electricity, and parking right outside.
The site itself has woodland walks and trails for mountain biking straight from the gate. You're right in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A good pub is about four minutes walk down the lane. The village of Pontesbury is five minutes by car for a shop, cafes, or a takeaway.
For a day out, you're well placed. The Stiperstones ridge is just there, it's a proper rugged walk with great views. The Long Mynd is about a 15 minute drive for more hiking. Carding Mill Valley is a popular spot to start from.
Shrewsbury is half an hour away. It's a nice old town with a castle, the abbey, and plenty of shops and restaurants.
Further afield, Ironbridge Gorge is about 40 minutes. It's a UNESCO site, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The museum there is very good.
No pets allowed, sorry. The site is quiet and more for couples or a small family. If you want a straightforward base to get out into the hills, it does the job.
