Piglets Place
Piglets Place is in Plealey. It’s a barn that was converted, not by us. It’s old, from about 1600. It’s one of a few barns around a courtyard.
It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The conversion was done well, so you get the old beams but the heating works. It’s comfortable.
You’ve got your own bit of garden and a patio area. There’s on site parking. The facilities are all there: washing machine, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. We can put up a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
There’s a games room in one of the other barns on the courtyard, with a pool table and things for kids. You share access to that with the other cottages.
It’s very quiet here. You can walk straight out from the door onto country lanes. The nearest proper shop and a pub are about a mile and a half away in Pontesbury.
Shrewsbury is about six miles. It’s a good town for a day out, nice shops and places to eat. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are about a 25 minute drive. Ludlow is about half an hour away if you’re into food.
For walking, you’re close to the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones. It’s proper hill country. The National Trust looks after a few places nearby like Attingham Park. The Shropshire’s Great Outdoors site is useful for maps and ideas.
