Elsie's Cottage
This is Elsie's Cottage in Pontesbury. It's a detached cottage with a thatched roof, out on the A488. You can fit five people in, but it's two bedrooms plus a sofa bed upstairs in a snug. There's one bathroom, downstairs off the main bedroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well kept, not brand new. Original beams, that sort of thing. The garden is good sized and enclosed, so it's fine for dogs. You can park two cars off the road.
You're right in the Shropshire Hills here. The view from the garden is across fields to Pontesford Hill. You can walk straight out onto the hill from the cottage. There are two marked routes, one easier and one going to the top.
Pontesbury village is about a mile down the road. It's got a Co-op, a Post Office, a butchers, and three pubs that do food. For a bigger town, Shrewsbury is about a 15 minute drive. Good for shopping, museums, and walking along the river. Charles Darwin was from there.
You can get to Much Wenlock or Ludlow in under half an hour if you fancy a trip out. Ludlow's got the castle and a famous food market.
Inside, it's got what you need: WiFi, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The utilities are all included in the price.
