Shippon Cottage Plealey

Shippon Cottage is in Plealey, a quiet spot in the Shropshire countryside. It's one of a small group of converted barns around a courtyard. This one is a bungalow, so everything's on one level which is handy. It dates back to around 1600, so the walls are thick and the ceilings are low in places. You can't miss the old beams.

It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's an old building so expect character, not perfection. The WiFi works. There's a washing machine and parking right outside.

You get your own patio and a bit of lawned garden. It's peaceful, you just get the fields and the birds. There's a local pub about a mile and a half away. They do food.

You can walk straight from the door onto country lanes and footpaths. For a longer walk, you can get onto Offa's Dyke Path from here. The Shropshire Hills area is about a 20 minute drive. That's where the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones are, if you want proper hills and views.

Shrewsbury is about six miles. It's a nice old town with a castle, shops, and places to eat. Ironbridge is under half an hour by car if you want the museums. Ludlow is about 40 minutes drive. It's good for food and has a market.

We allow one well-behaved dog. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. For a Christmas booking, we can put a tree up for you.
