Curlew Cottage is in Bentlawnt, near Hope in Shropshire. It's a semi-detached barn conversion next to our house. It sleeps three people.
There are two bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom downstairs. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main bedroom is a double with beams. The second bedroom is a single, and you have to walk through the double to get to it. Its ceiling is sloped. Just so you know.
The stairs from the living room are fine, but they are the original cottage stairs so they're a bit steep and narrow. The kitchen is a country style with everything you need. The living room has stone walls. Outside there's a small, enclosed patio with a table and chairs. It's sunny.
You approach the cottage down our private single track lane, about 150 metres long. There are two gates to open and close. The lane and the cottage are surrounded by fields with sheep, so dogs need to be kept on a lead. You can use the grassy area at the front of the cottage for them. Please don't let them off the lead in the fields.
It's very quiet here. You're right in the Shropshire Hills. Good walking from the door. Hope village has a shop and a local pub, both about a mile and a half away.
Shrewsbury is under half an hour's drive. It's got the castle, a market, and plenty of shops. Ludlow is about 40 minutes, good for food and its castle. For days out, National Trust Shropshire has places like Powis Castle. Wroxeter Roman City and Ironbridge are also within 30 minutes.
In the cottage you've got wifi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
