Wynmine Cottage
Wynmine Cottage is in Quebec. That's a little hamlet near Hamsterley Forest in County Durham. It's a mid-terraced cottage but it's detached at one end, so it's just you and a neighbour on the other side.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs. One's a good size double, the other is a very big room with a kingsize bed. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. One with a shower is downstairs. The main bathroom upstairs has both a big walk-in shower and a separate free-standing bath. The views from the back are over fields. It's quite open.
Inside, it's all been done up recently. It's open plan downstairs: kitchen, living area and dining space all together. The kitchen has an American fridge freezer and a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. Outside, there's a garden at the back with a patio. It's a good spot to sit. We allow up to two pets.
The location is rural. There's a local pub within walking distance. For a shop, you'd drive to Hamsterley or Wolsingham. Hamsterley Forest is right on your doorstep for walking or cycling. It's managed by Forestry England.
Within about half an hour, you can get to Barnard Castle, High Force waterfall, and Raby Castle. Durham City is about a 40-minute drive. The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around here. Their site is useful: North Pennines AONB.
