This is Appletree Cottage in Quebec, County Durham. It's a terraced cottage on a quiet street in Cornsay Colliery, a semi-rural village. It's been recently refurbished.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed. The second has a super kingsize, which can be two singles if you need that. The bathroom has both a roll-top bath and a separate shower cubicle.
Downstairs there's a living room with a woodburning stove, a dining room, and the kitchen. The dining room has patio doors leading out to a private, block-paved courtyard with a bistro set. It's a nice spot when the sun's out.
The kitchen has new appliances, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's WiFi, a TV, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
There's a pub within walking distance. A nature reserve is a couple of miles away. For days out, Beamish Museum is very close. Hall Hill Farm, Diggerland, and local golf or fishing are all within a half-hour drive. The market town of Lanchester is nearby.
Durham City centre, with the cathedral and castle, is about a 20-minute drive. The coast, like Seaham, is roughly 30 minutes by car. For wider information, This is Durham is a good resource.
It has a 5 Star rating, which reflects the refurbishment and facilities. Please note, as it's a traditional cottage, the stairs are a bit steeper than a modern house.
