Bolton Farm
Bolton Farm is in Alum Waters, County Durham. It's an annexe attached to a farmhouse, but you get it to yourselves. It has its own gated driveway and parking.
The place sleeps four, in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard.
You've got a private, enclosed courtyard garden. It's a sun-trap. There's also a wood burner in the living area. The layout is open-plan downstairs.
A few things to note. The property is very near the A1. You can hear some road noise outside, but it's not bad inside with the windows shut. An Italian restaurant is right opposite. It's handy but can be busy. There's an electric vehicle charger on the drive.
Durham city centre is about two miles away, so a ten minute drive or a taxi. The Cathedral and Castle are the main sights. The riverside walks there are good.
For wider days out, you're close to the Durham Dales. The National Trust's Gibside is about a 20 minute drive. Beamish Museum is within half an hour.
In terms of facilities, most things are included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, smart TV. Bedding and towels are provided. No pets. The hot tub is in a shared part of the garden, but for your private use during your stay.
