Wayside Lodge is a new-build, detached lodge in my back garden. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means everything works well and it's comfortable, but it's not enormous. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. The floor is all on one level, which helps with access.
I built it as a quiet spot. It's in a residential area about a ten-minute drive from the seafront. It's not a rural retreat, but it's off the main road and feels private. The main feature outside is the covered hot tub. It's under a sort of pergola with sides, so it's sheltered.
Inside, the two bedrooms have king-size beds. The bathroom has underfloor heating and a walk-in shower. There's a TV in the living area and one in each bedroom. The kitchen has a dishwasher. It's all open plan.
For facilities, it's wheelchair accessible at the entrance, and everything is on the ground floor. There's parking right next to the lodge. Bedding and towels are included. I can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
You're really here for Blackpool though. It's a ten-minute drive to the seafront for the Tower, Pleasure Beach, or the Sandcastle waterpark. If you prefer a quieter beach, St. Annes or Lytham are about the same distance south. There's a local pub a short walk away.
If you want a day trip, the Forest of Bowland is about an hour's drive. The Lake District National Park is roughly the same, but in the other direction.
