Sonas is a one-bedroom flat for two in Torlundy. Torlundy is a quiet village about three miles outside Fort William. It’s detached, so you’re on your own. It’s got a 4 Star rating which means it’s comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is the view. You look right out at Ben Nevis, assuming the weather’s playing ball. You’re really only here for the views and the outdoors.
It’s all on the ground floor and it’s wheelchair friendly. There’s a walk-in shower. The layout is open plan, so the living, kitchen and dining areas are together. There’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right there and an electric vehicle charger.
You’ve got a private patio with a BBQ. It’s a good spot to sit with a drink in the evening.
For getting out, there’s a cycle path that runs from the door into Fort William, or the other way towards the Nevis Range ski and mountain bike area. That’s about three miles. You can walk from the flat down to the River Lochy. Glen Nevis is very close for gentler walks with good views and waterfalls.
Fort William is three miles away for shops, places to eat, and the train station. The station is where you get the Jacobite steam train to Mallaig. It goes over the Glenfinnan viaduct. The local pub is about a mile’s walk.
A lot of people use the flat as a base for climbing Ben Nevis. It’s also very central for day trips. You can drive to Glencoe in about half an hour. Oban, Skye, and Mallaig are all within a couple of hours’ drive.
