Fort William Chalet

The Fort William Chalet is a detached one-bedroom place for two people. It's on the edge of town, so you're a few minutes from the shops but it feels quiet.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-fitted out. Everything's on one level, which is handy. The bedroom is separate, which is good for a chalet. The shower is a proper walk-in one.

You've got your own patio area with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the evening. Parking is right next to the chalet.

Fort William itself is on Loch Linnhe. The town has the usual shops and places to eat. The West Highland Museum is worth a look if the weather's bad. For a meal up the road, the Ben Nevis Inn does decent pub food.

Obviously, Ben Nevis is right there for walking. The Nevis Range gondola runs in summer for the views without the climb. The drive to Glencoe is about half an hour and the scenery is spectacular.

The steam train to Mallaig goes over the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Booking in advance is essential. You can also drive to Mallaig in under an hour and get the ferry to the Isle of Skye from there.

Facilities include WiFi, TV, and all bedding and towels. There's a washing machine. It's not suitable for pets.
