Fyvie Cottage is in Banavie, up by Fort William. It's a detached bungalow, so it's all on one level. That's it in the picture. Your view is straight out the back towards Ben Nevis and the ski slopes. It doesn't get blocked.
It's for four people, but there's only one proper bedroom with a kingsize bed. The other two would be on the double sofa bed in the living room. That works for a family with kids, or two couples who don't mind not having separate rooms. There's one bathroom with a shower.
Outside, there's a patio and a bit of decking that's slightly higher up. You get the furniture to sit out there. It's a good spot to look at the mountain.
The place is a 4 Star, so it's well kitted out and comfy. All the bedding and towels are here. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them. You can store bikes. Sorry, no pets.
There's a pub and a restaurant about a mile away. The nearest shop is in Corpach, two miles down the road.
If you're here to be outside, you're in the right spot. You're at the foot of Ben Nevis. The path up the mountain starts close by. For walking, you've got everything from forest trails to the big ridges. The Glencoe valley is about half an hour's drive south, and it's spectacular. You're also right on the West Highland Way.
In summer, the Jacobite steam train runs from Fort William to Mallaig. It goes over the Glenfinnan viaduct. Fort William is just five minutes in the car. From there you can get boat trips on Loch Linnhe to look for wildlife.
