Cruachan Log Cabin is in Banavie, on the edge of Fort William. It's a proper log cabin, sat in our garden. We live in the house next door. You get the side garden and the view to yourselves. It looks out towards Ben Nevis and Loch Linnhe.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and has what you need, but it's not a luxury hotel. It's a cabin.
The living area is all one open space. The shower is electric. The water pressure is fine but it's not a power shower. The WiFi works.
You're about ten minutes' drive from the centre of Fort William. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant about half a mile down the road. The local pub does food.
You're in a good spot for getting out. The path up Ben Nevis starts close by. The Great Glen Way is on the doorstep for walking or cycling. You can see the Neptune's Staircase locks on the Caledonian Canal from here. Boat trips on Loch Linnhe leave from Corpach, which is just down the road.
If you want to drive, Glenfinnan and its viaduct are about half an hour. The road out to Arisaig and the silver sands beaches is about forty minutes. For a wet day, the National Trust for Scotland at Glencoe is about thirty minutes south.
For facilities: there's parking right outside, a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
