Stepps Cottage is in Banavie. It's a detached bungalow on a working croft. The view from the front is the main thing. You look straight out over the Caledonian Canal to Ben Nevis and the ski slopes on Aonach Mor.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The whole place is on one level, so it's all step-free. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's properly equipped and comfortable.
You're not isolated. There's a pub and a restaurant about a five minute walk away. The local shop is three quarters of a mile. Fort William is four miles down the road for all the bigger shops and a swimming pool.
In the summer, the steam train to Mallaig goes past nearby. You can see it from the garden. From Mallaig you can get ferries over to Skye.
The location is why you'd book it. You're right at the foot of Ben Nevis for walking or climbing. Glencoe is about half an hour's drive. You can be at the start of the Great Glen Way or the West Highland Way quickly. For a different coast, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is maybe an hour away.
Facilities: there's parking right there, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a garden. The place is wheelchair accessible. You can bring two dogs.
