This is Beinn Breagha, in Inverlochy. It's just outside Fort William. It's a terraced cottage, but it’s quiet.
It’s a three star place. That means it’s clean, comfortable and well done-up, but it’s not luxury. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom between them. It's a good shower.
You come in at the front into the lounge. The kitchen's at the back. They’ve done a nice job with a wee porch outside the back door, made it into a reading corner. There’s a small garden out there with a picnic bench.
You can walk into Fort William, takes about twenty minutes. There’s a pub not far. The Caledonian Canal is close for a flat stroll. Ben Nevis Distillery is up the road.
It’s a good spot for getting out. Glencoe is about twenty minutes' drive south. You can drive to Mallaig for the ferry to Skye in just over an hour. Fort Augustus and Loch Ness are about forty minutes north. Oban is about an hour and a half.
If you want to go on the Jacobite steam train, the one that goes over the Glenfinnan viaduct, you need to book that months ahead. It leaves from Fort William.
Facilities are all there: Wi-Fi, washing machine, dishwasher. The heating and electricity are included. It says there’s a wood burner but you’d need to check if wood is provided. You can bring two dogs.
