Dalcomera is in Gairlochy, about eleven miles north of Fort William. It's a detached house with its own garden, set back off the road. The views are good. You can see Ben Nevis from the front.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. The unusual thing is they all have their own en-suite bathroom. There's also a shower room downstairs. So that's four bathrooms in total. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The kitchen and dining area are open plan. Patio doors go out to the garden. There's a separate living room with an electric stove. The stairs are fine.
There's a large utility room around the back which is good for storing bikes or outdoor gear. The garden is enclosed. You get a brick barbecue and garden furniture.
For safety, the property isn't suitable for children under five.
You're a few hundred yards from the Caledonian Canal and the Great Glen Way for walking or cycling. The River Lochy, which is known for salmon, runs past. Fishing can be pre-booked online if that's your thing.
Spean Bridge is three miles away. It has a shop, a post office, a couple of restaurants, a coffee shop, and a nine-hole golf course. There's also a restaurant about two miles walk from the house, near the Commando Memorial.
Fort William is about twenty minutes by car. That's where you'll find more shops and the Nevis Range ski and mountain bike centre. The area is known for outdoor stuff: walking, climbing, white water rafting. You can get the Jacobite steam train from there.
Further out, within an hour or so by car, you can get to places like Glencoe, Loch Ness, Aviemore, or the start of the road to the Isle of Skye. The North Coast 500 route passes through this part of the Highlands.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
