Karelia Lodge

Karelia Lodge is a detached bungalow on our farm near Coshieville. It's all on one level. You get your own bit of garden and a deck out the front, which looks over towards the River Tay. The view is very good.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. That's handy. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's smart and well finished.

Being on a farm, it's quiet. You'll see the sheep. There are footpaths straight from the gate if you want to walk. The road outside is single track, so take it steady when you pull out.

The village of Kenmore is about three miles away. Nice for a stroll by the river or the loch. They've got a couple of places to eat. Aberfeldy is a bit further, maybe ten minutes in the car. That's where you'll find the supermarket, a few shops, and the cinema.

If you like walking, you're right in the middle of it. Ben Lawers and Schiehallion are a short drive for the big hills. For something less steep, there are plenty of lower level trails.

You're about half an hour from Pitlochry, which has the theatre and a dam you can watch the salmon leap at. Stirling and its castle are about an hour's drive if you fancy a bigger day out.

As for the place itself, it's got everything you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. The TV works. Parking right outside. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

My wife does knitting and crafting workshops sometimes, by arrangement. And if you're here for the fishing, the Tay is right there. It's a big deal for salmon.
