Dunvarlich House is a big place on the east edge of Aberfeldy. You're about five minutes from the shops and pub. It's Swedish in style, built by William Bell around 1900. It's had some love put back into it. The main thing is the view from the front. You look straight out over the River Tay and Aberfeldy bridge.
It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. The stairs are a feature - a double staircase either side of a fireplace with a wood burner.
There's original oak panelling in the drawing room. The sun porch is full of windows. The upstairs is very spacious. The bathrooms are big Victorian ones.
There's a separate private wing at the back where the caretakers live.
You get the garden to yourselves. The west lawn is sunny. At the front, steps go down to a path right by the river. It's a good steady walk.
Aberfeldy has what you need. A butcher, a deli, bookshops, places to eat. The swimming pool is maybe a ten minute walk.
For bigger days out, you're well placed. The Tay Forest Park is on your doorstep. Castle Menzies is just a mile away. Loch Tay is about twenty minutes. Drummond Castle Gardens are about twenty minutes too, near Crieff.
Inside you've got a wood burning stove in the main hall, TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. Pets are welcome, two maximum.
