Gushat Cottage is in Strathtay, in Perthshire. It's an old place, built around 1865, and it was made from joining two buildings together. That means the layout is a bit unusual. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy.
You've got a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen table looks out over the garden. We get red squirrels and a lot of birds at the feeder there.
There are a couple of things to note. The stairs are traditional cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and narrow. Also, to get to the master bedroom, you go down two steps from the living room. Just so you don't trip.
The village is small. There's a post office and shop about five minutes' walk away, and a pub by the river. You can get supermarket deliveries.
You're right on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. For walking, that's your main resource. Aberfeldy is about a 15 minute drive west. It's got a decent Co-op, some shops and places to eat, and the Dewar's distillery if you're interested. Pitlochry is about 9 miles east.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for two cars. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
