The White House

The White House is in Pitlochry, Perthshire. It's a detached, white cottage from the 1600s. Next door is a small brewery, so sometimes you can smell the malt. It's in a quiet village just outside the town.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 2 Star place, so it's comfortable but basic. Everything works, it's clean, and it's warm. The walls are thick stone, so it's cool in summer.

There's a pub about a hundred yards away. They do food. The shop is three quarters of a mile. Pitlochry itself is a couple of minutes in the car. It's a proper town with butchers, bakers, a co-op, and places to eat. The Pitlochry Festival Theatre does summer shows.

You can walk straight from the door. Paths go into the woods and along the river. For golf, fishing, or visiting castles and distilleries, you're right in the middle of it. The National Trust for Scotland has lots of properties nearby, like the Killiecrankie battlefield.

You can drive into the Cairngorms in under half an hour. Or go the other way towards Stirling. It's a good spot for just touring around.

Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a washing machine, parking right there, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. You can bring two dogs.
