Grantully Cottage

Grantully Cottage is near Aberfeldy, off the B898. It's a detached place, used to be an estate building. It's been modernised but still feels old.

It sleeps six. Two bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms. One is downstairs. The master has a kingsize bed. The other room has two bunk beds, and each bunk has a trundle bed underneath. Good for a big family, but it's a cosy fit.

The kitchen has an Aga range. It heats the room and you can cook on it. There are two living rooms. One has a TV and an open fire. The other has a piano, if anyone plays.

The cottage sits in about two acres of its own ancient woodland. It's very quiet. You'll see red deer in the glade sometimes. Red squirrels are common. The birdlife is good, including owls at night.

The River Tay is a few minutes' walk away. There's a path along it you can follow towards Aberfeldy one way or Strathtay the other. Fishing is available on the river.

For getting out, Aberfeldy is about three miles. It has shops, a couple of pubs, a golf course. Loch Tay is about eight miles west. The Cairngorms National Park starts about 15 miles north. You can be in Pitlochry or at the foot of Schiehallion in under half an hour.

Facilities: There's parking right outside. The washing machine is in the utility room. Bedding and towels are included. It has a 4 Star rating. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the main living space and bedrooms are on different floors, so bear that in mind. No pets.
