Smiddy Cottage is in Weem, which is just outside Aberfeldy. It's a detached stone cottage from the 1700s. There's a small garden around it. It's on the village road, but it's quiet.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One is downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was refurbished a few years ago, so it’s comfortable. It's not huge but there's enough room.
The stairs are cottage stairs. They’re a bit steep and turn a corner. Just so you know.
Weem is small. There's a good pub about five minutes’ walk away. Aberfeldy is less than a mile for proper shops, a few restaurants, and a co-op. The Birks Cinema there is nice.
You can walk from the door. There’s a path down to the River Tay. Weem Woods is right there too, up behind the cottage. It’s a good steep walk with views.
If you want to go further, Loch Tay is about ten minutes’ drive. You can get boat trips from there. Ben Lawers is nearby for walking. There are lots of castles around, like Castle Menzies in Aberfeldy itself. The National Trust for Scotland looks after Ben Lawers and other sites.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and parking for one car on the gravel at the front. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
